We’re ATCO Australia, we own and operate over 14,500km of natural gas pipelines, delivering safe, reliable, affordable energy to homes and businesses, enabling the everyday of WA. If you cook with gas or heat your water with natural gas (like most people do), that gas was delivered through ATCO pipelines.
We’re really excited about the sustainable future of energy and we’re pioneering the development and distribution of renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane in WA. In Jandakot we’re using renewable energy, battery storage, and electrolysis to produce renewable hydrogen which is used to fuel zero-emission hydrogen vehicles and blended into the gas network.
Natural gas isn’t just the transition fuel we need to move to renewables, it’s also a fuel in transition. Renewable gasses could be alternatives to natural gas, like in Europe where over 20,000 biogas facilities are already operating, reducing emissions and powering their economies. While we’re still working on delivering a renewable gas future in WA, you can see renewable gas in action in this year’s MasterChef, where the contestants are cooking on renewable gas!
