NSW Environment Protection Authority

NSW Environment Protection Authority

The EPA is the primary environmental regulator of NSW and takes a stewardship approach. It is responsible for caring, protecting and nurturing the environment for generations of today and tomorrow to enjoy. The EPA is focused on outcomes that lead to a thriving and sustainable state. We proudly provide the Secretariat for the cross-government NSW Asbestos Coordination Committee (NACC), and are dedicated to working with community, industry, business and all levels of government to address the challenges of asbestos and its legacy in Australia. SafeWork NSW will be joining the EPA at the Sydney Home Show to provide information on asbestos safety. The EPA also works closely with Community Recycling Centres to ensure the people of NSW can access recycling options for problem waste and are educated on what can be recycled where. Further, the EPA is working to protect the community and environment from the ongoing risk of lead. Although lead use has decreased, it is still present in NSW and therefore raising public awareness and helping remediate contaminated sites is key to protecting the environment and community health. The EPA invites you to visit them at the Sydney Home Show to learn more about how you can join them on their mission to protect tomorrow together.
