The Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for the building and plumbing industries. For the first time, regulation, dispute resolution and domestic building insurance are handled by one agency. This gives us a clearer view of the whole building process, so we can protect consumers, support industry, and make the system easier to navigate. What we do • Register and license builders and plumbers • Inspect and audit building and plumbing work to meet industry standards • Help resolve domestic building disputes through our free service • Manage and audit DBI for jobs over $16,000 • Enforce rules through rectification orders, disciplinary action and prosecutions when needed We’re here to protect consumers and raise standards across the industry.
